14 years ago yoga led me out of a long dark road of depression and self-abuse into a journey of self-discovery and awareness. A journey filled with teachings of light and endless possibilities - including the seemingly impossible idea of self-love. A body that had loathed and turned on itself in numerous ways began to appreciate its own strength and grace, and the divine soul that dwells within started, for the first time, to acknowledge its own shakti (power) seeking, in turn, to empower others to discover theirs.
What I Teach
There are many different styles of yoga available from the popular Hatha, Ashtanga and Iyengar, to the lesser well known Yin, Anusara and Forrest. The classes I teach have their roots in Hatha, although heavily influenced by all the styles I practice, and are suitable for all levels and abilities.
The linking of breath and body through the beauty and grace of movement. Vinyasa Flow lends the experience of transcendence through asana in myriad ways.
Quiet and introspective, Yin Yoga enables us to dig deep and reach the places, body and mind, that no other style of yoga can quite get to.
Workshops for women centred around Yoga, women’s health and wellbeing, especially through the various cycles, and women’s spirituality.
